Biography
Dr. Roger Marshall is a small-town Kansas physician who became a U.S. senator. Before entering politics, he spent decades as an OB-GYN in Great Bend, delivering thousands of babies, and he served in the U.S. Army Reserve. He represented Kansas's "Big First" district in the House before winning his Senate seat in 2020. In Washington, he brings a doctor's perspective to health care policy, defends the unborn, backs Kansas farmers and ranchers, and pushes for secure borders and fiscal responsibility.
Policy Positions
Making America Healthy Again
A practicing OB-GYN before coming to Congress, Dr. Roger Marshall brings a physician's perspective to the Senate. He founded the Make America Healthy Again (MAHA) Caucus to take on chronic disease at its roots. He championed provisions in the 2026 appropriations law that fund Community Health Centers, keep telehealth flexibilities in place through 2027, expand coverage for multi-cancer early detection screening, and rein in predatory practices by pharmacy benefit managers. Meanwhile, he has worked to trim over $100 million in unnecessary HHS bureaucracy and put Medicaid on a sustainable path so it remains available for the most vulnerable.
Food Security Is National Security
Roger Marshall knows that the Chinese Communist Party is an adversary, not a partner, and that America's farmland is a strategic asset. He introduced the Protecting American Agriculture from Foreign Adversaries Act, which would give the Secretary of Agriculture a permanent seat on CFIUS and require reporting of any transaction by adversarial nations like China, North Korea, Russia, and Iran that could threaten national security. He has warned that the danger lies less in the number of acres than in their location, pointing to Chinese-linked land near Whiteman Air Force Base. Senator Marshall will keep standing up for Kansas farmers and ranchers and against foreign control of the American food supply.
Securing the Border and Restoring Safety
Senator Marshall has been one of the Senate's leading voices on the crisis at the southern border. He authored the Border Invasion Resolution and raised the alarm about Chinese nationals crossing the border illegally and the CCP's infiltration of American schools and land. He has worked alongside President Trump to make securing the border and restoring safety to American communities a top priority, because a nation that cannot control its borders cannot protect its citizens.
