Biography
Laurie Buckhout is the Republican nominee for North Carolina's 1st Congressional District, running to unseat Democratic incumbent Don Davis in one of the nation's most closely watched House races. A retired U.S. Army colonel with 26 years of military service, she commanded troops and served as chief of electronic warfare for the Army before later being appointed to a national security role in the Trump administration, including as the White House's assistant national cyber director for policy. After her military career, she founded and led Corvus Consulting, a strategic consulting firm, demonstrating success in the private sector as well as in uniform. Styling herself an America First candidate, she has earned strong backing from House Speaker Mike Johnson and the NRCC, who view her as a top recruit capable of flipping the district and helping Republicans maintain their House majority.
