Biography
Dan Sullivan is a Marine Corps veteran and a strong voice for national security and Alaska's energy future. He served as an Assistant Secretary of State under President George W. Bush, then as Alaska's attorney general and commissioner of Natural Resources. Since 2015, he has used his seat on the Armed Services Committee to push for a stronger military, a firm stance toward China and Russia in the Arctic, and responsible development of Alaska's oil, gas and minerals. His "Alaskan of the Week" floor speeches honor ordinary Alaskans who serve their communities.

Formerly serving as Business Affairs and Commissioner of the Alaska Department of Natural Resources, Dan Sullivan understands Alaska’s energy industry’s needs, having managed one of the world’s largest oil, gas, mineral, and land portfolios. As an advocate for an all-of-the-above energy strategy and the good-paying jobs and high environmental standards that it supports, Dan was a leader in the fight against the Biden Administration’s disastrous war on energy.
Conserving Alaska’s Beauty
Dan’s leadership extends into protecting Alaska’s natural abundance. Signed into law by President Trump, Dan’s Save Our Seas (SOS) Acts are the most comprehensive ocean cleanup legislation in American history, working with Alaska Native tribal organizations, fishermen, and business groups to conserve Alaska’s pristine nature.
