Biography
Byron Donalds is the Trump backed, America First conservative fighting to keep Florida the freest state in the nation. A proud husband and father from Naples, Donalds has represented Florida's 19th Congressional District in Congress since 2021, where he built a reputation as one of the fiercest and most outspoken conservative warriors in Washington. President Trump gave Donalds his complete and total endorsement to succeed Governor Ron DeSantis, and Donalds went on to win the Republican primary by a commanding margin. If elected, Donalds would make history as Florida's first African American governor, all while carrying the MAGA torch forward without compromise.
Policy Positions
Fight Illegal Immigration
Donalds stands with President Trump to secure the border and end taxpayer giveaways to illegal immigrants. He is committed to keeping Florida families and communities safe by cracking down on illegal immigration, ending taxpayer handouts to those in the country illegally, and stopping the flow of deadly drugs across our border. Donalds refuses to let Florida become a sanctuary for lawlessness.
Make Florida Affordable Again
Donalds is fighting to fix the property insurance crisis liberal overregulation helped create. He has vowed to tackle skyrocketing insurance and housing costs by ripping out decades of burdensome insurance regulations and cutting the red tape that drives up the cost of building a home, arguing that government permitting alone can eat up nearly a third of the cost of a new house. Donalds is determined to make sure hardworking Florida families and seniors are not taxed and regulated out of the American Dream.
Expanding School Choice
Donalds is a relentless champion of school choice and getting radical ideology out of the classroom. He and his wife have spent years fighting to direct more resources into charter and private schools, and as governor he would push for world class education that puts students and parents in charge, along with vocational pathways that let young Floridians build real careers without being forced into debt for a college degree.
